Water Service - Scheduled Maintenance for June 2, 2025 in the vicinity of Fifth & Pine Streets in Towanda Borough. Water Service will be temporarily interrupted for scheduled maintenance. After the maintenance is completed, residents are advised to boil their water prior to consumption. This boil water notice is issued as best management practice and out of an abundance of caution. The boil water notice is expected to remain in place for at least 48 hours after completion of the water line maintenance work. Residents affected will receive notice prior to the start of the work and follow-up notification when the boil water advisory is lifted. ** Please see Public Announcements for further instructions**

It has been brought to the attention of Towanda Water & Sewer Systems that a Customer has received a phone call from an unknown source indicating their property was due for shut off due to non-payment. Towanda Water & Sewer does not make these type of calls in an unannounced manner or from an unpublished number. Please do NOT make any payment to the caller over the phone. This is a Scam!! If you have any questions regarding your account, please call our office at 570-265-2696 Ext 101 or 107.

The Towanda Borough Planning Commission currently has two Vacancies. Any Towanda Borough resident interested, who is 18+, can send a letter of interest to stacy@towandaborough.org or mail it to Towanda Borough, PO Box 229, Towanda PA 18848. Any questions can be directed to Stacy Schoonover, Manager of Towanda Borough at 570.265.2696 Option 4, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
A secured payment drop box is located outside on the Means Street side of the Towanda Municipal Building for Borough Tax Payments. If you require a receipt, please include a stamped self-addressed envelope. Please do not bring your tax payments inside to the counter or to ask questions about your tax bill. Thank you for your cooperation and understandidng.

Towanda Borough is accepting Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of a multi-municipal comprehensive plan of the three municipalities that include Towanda Borough, Towanda and North Towanda Townships. Sealed proposals must be received by the Borough Manager at 724 Main Street, Towanda, PA 18848, no later than Monday, June 2, 2025 at 4:00 PM EST. The RFP can be accessed at the link below. A copy can also be obtained at the above address.
